My research lies at the intersection of cognitive science, transportation systems engineering, artificial intelligence, and visualization design. I develop visual analytics interfaces that support human reasoning and real-time decision-making to enhance safety.听My research particularly focuses on mixed-autonomy situations where automation and humans must coordinate tasks and collaborate effectively.
As for the design methodology, I try to transform domain constraints into visual representations that help people understand situations, anticipate consequences, and analyse what-if scenarios.听
My expertise includes visual encoding and interactive prototype design, simulation development, and quantitative and qualitative evaluation through human-in-the-loop experiments.听
Within AI, my work focuses on making explanations of machine-learning models responsive to the user鈥檚 task and context aiming to support them in making decisions more aligned with the operational goals of the system they control.
