I am a practicing medical doctor (general practitioner, GP) and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences (HMV), Link枚ping University, Sweden. I defended my PhD thesis, 鈥淎 good death from the perspective of patients with severe illness and advance care planning (ACP) in patients near end-of-life鈥�, in 2021. Since then, my research has broadened and now focuses primarily on older people's health, cancer, palliative care, and domestic violence, but also on alcohol-related disease, de-implementation of low-value care, Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH), cardiovascular disease, and infections. Teaching medical students and supervising PhD students are parts of my daily work.
Since 2023, I have been the principal investigator of the national Swedish research project BRAVE (Brain Tumor Related Aggression and Violence Exposure), a multidisciplinary initiative aiming to improve the detection of and support for brain tumor patients, family members exposed to violence, and the professionals who encounter them. In addition to leading BRAVE, I am involved in neuro-oncology research exploring experiences of treatment with tumor treating fields (TTFields) among those involved in the treatment, including patients with glioblastoma, their families, healthcare professionals, and staff from the company providing the device in Sweden.
