Windpower in Ragunda stands upon histories of colonialism and resource extraction. Some see a sustainable digital future here. Others must live with yet another industrial transformation of a landscape for which they will not be compensated.
What is it to live with these turbines? What futures do they make, and for whom?
As a part of our project, Julia Velkova collaborated with paper engineer and artist to create a series of pop-up books 鈥� 鈥淕rounding Wind鈥�, 鈥淟ocating Wind鈥� and 鈥淲ind Futures鈥� exploring these questions from the Bj枚rkvattnet Wind Park in Ragunda. The books can be seen at our exhibition 鈥�Where is the Cloud?鈥� open until 31st August 2025 at the Museum of Work, Norrk枚ping.
