Courses taught in English
Courses (single-subject or self-contained) taught in English are offered for non-degree students and exchange students.
Application to such courses is made online through the national application service 鈥淯niversity Admissions in Sweden鈥�, . More information about the application process is available at /en/article/application-process-single-subject-courses.
Please note that it is possible to take individual courses taught in English, but such courses cannot be combined to form a final degree at Link枚ping University.
One week of full-time studies corresponds to 1.5 credits and a 20-week academic semester corresponds to 30 credits.

Swedish language courses
LiU offers beginner鈥檚 courses in Swedish open to international degree students and exchange students at LiU. The courses are part-time with lectures once a week during the semester. They are divided into different levels, which means that admission is depending on your previous knowledge of Swedish. Each course bears 7.5 credits/semester.
Qualifying Course in Swedish
Link枚ping University offers a qualifying course in Swedish for non-Swedish-speaking students who plan to study at Link枚ping University. This is an intensive, one-year, full-time course, designed to satisfy the general requirements in Swedish and civics for university studies.
The course is open for:

Language requirements for bachelor's and master's level studies in English
To be eligible for bachelor's studies conducted in English, students must have documented skills in English, both written and oral, corresponding to the level of English in Swedish upper secondary education (English B/ English 6). For students who have not studied in Swedish upper secondary education, skills in English are normally attested by means of an international language test.

To be eligible for bachelor's studies conducted in Swedish, students must have documented knowledge of Swedish, both written and oral, corresponding to the level of Swedish required in Swedish upper secondary education (Swedish B/Swedish 3). For students who have not studied in Swedish upper secondary education, skills in Swedish are normally documented by the nationwide Swedish test TISUS, Test in Swedish for University Studies.
Students with Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Icelandic or Faeroese as their mother tongue do not need to verify their knowledge of Swedish if their knowledge of their mother tongue is documented by their final upper secondary school certificate.
Finnish students who have studied Swedish in upper secondary education are considered to have the required knowledge of Swedish.
Entry requirements
The entry requirements for master's level courses and bachelor's level courses differ. There are both general requirements for university studies and specific requirements for each course.听
All Swedish and international students must fulfill the general admission requirements and all specific admission requirements in order to be considered for admission to a course at Link枚ping University.
Entry requirements for master's level courses
General entry requirements
You must have a bachelor's degree (equivalent to a Swedish kandidatexamen) from an internationally recognised university.听You also need to demonstrate proficiency in English, usually through an internationally recognised English language test. For courses taught in Swedish, knowledge of Swedish may also be required.

There is no paper application form available and it is not possible to apply directly to Link枚ping University.

Supporting documents for applications
When you submit your application to single-subject courses, it is important that you enclose all the necessary documents to show that you meet the general and specific entry requirements. The following documents should be enclosed:
- Proof of English language skills (English B/English 6) .
- Certificates and diplomas from previous studies at an internationally recognized higher education institution and/or a certificate of ongoing studies.
- Transcripts of completed courses and grades for each term.
- A copy of your passport or another identification document where your citizenship is stated.
- Proof that you meet the specific entry requirements
And, if needed:
- Upper Secondary School Certificate, such as High School, Abitur, Baccalaureate, GCE-O/A-levels, etc.
- Proof of proficiency in Swedish.
Submitting your documents
There are two ways to submit your documents to University Admissions: you can either scan and upload them to , or send certified copies via regular post. For some countries, only the latter method can be used.
