Artificial intelligence is being used across a growing number of areas in industry, the public sector and society. This development is increasing the need for AI systems that can withstand cyberattacks, disruption and other hostile or threatening conditions. RESIST has been established to address this challenge. The centre鈥檚 vision is to make Sweden a role model in secure and trustworthy AI by advancing cyber resilience throughout the AI lifecycle. Hosted by Link枚ping University, the centre is an academic collaboration between Link枚ping University, Lund University, 脰rebro University and RISE.

An arena for collaboration聽

The launch event took place at Cybercampus Sweden on Valhallav盲gen in Stockholm. Participants from academia, industry and the public sector met to discuss how AI systems can be made more secure, robust and trustworthy.

"We are very pleased that RESIST chose Cybercampus Sweden for its launch event. RESIST is addressing a critical challenge at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. Hosting the event demonstrates Cybercampus鈥檚 role as a national meeting place. Together, we can solve challenges that no single actor can solve alone", said David Olgart, Director of Cybercampus, after the event.

A shared national initiative

Following a welcome from Cybercampus, RESIST Director Fredrik Heintz introduced the centre and its principal investigators. He also presented an overview of its activities, which include competence development, education and training, policy and strategy advice, and the coordination of collaboration between research, industry and the public sector.

"Today, we had the pleasure of launching the RESIST Strategic Research Centre at Cybercampus. As AI takes on an increasingly important role in society, it is becoming more important to ensure that AI systems are secure and resilient. Together with companies and societal stakeholders, our vision is to make Sweden a role model in secure and trustworthy AI by pioneering cyber resilience throughout the AI lifecycle. Launching the centre at Cybercampus Sweden gave us a national platform where research, industry and public authorities can meet. This is exactly what is needed, because cyber-resilient AI is a shared concern for the whole of Sweden," says Fredrik Heintz, Director of RESIST.

Perspectives from across sectors
