The Bernt J盲rmark Foundation supports scientific research in areas including control engineering, game theory, flight mechanics and applied mathematics. The scholarship can support research, exchange of experience and participation in courses and other scientific activities abroad.
"The scholarship gives me the opportunity to pursue advanced training in applied mathematics and AI, which will be directly relevant to the next phase of my doctoral research," says Hamideh Pourrasoul Ouzi.
Helping companies make better use of their knowledge
Hamideh Pourrasoul Ouzi's research focuses on how AI can support engineering and manufacturing. She works with industry, including small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, where information may be spread across different systems and access to specialised expertise and large digitalisation teams can be limited.
Her research aims to help manufacturing companies make better use of their existing information and experience to support decisions in design and production. Applications include estimating production time, planning work and identifying opportunities to reuse existing parts and solutions. By reducing manual work and making valuable knowledge more accessible, the research could help companies save time and use their resources more effectively.
Stipendiet ger Hamideh m枚jlighet att f枚rdjupa sina kunskaper inom bland annat statistisk inl盲rning, optimering och beslutsfattande under os盲kerhet. Det st盲rker hennes arbete med att utveckla AI-metoder som 盲r tillf枚rlitliga och anv盲ndbara under verkliga produktionsf枚rh氓llanden.

The scholarship will allow Hamideh to deepen her knowledge in areas such as statistical learning, optimisation and decision-making under uncertainty. This will support her work to develop AI methods that are reliable and useful under real production conditions.听
"The training will also give me an opportunity to exchange ideas with other doctoral students and researchers, receive feedback from new perspectives and build international research contacts," says Hamideh Pourrasoul Ouzi.
About the Bernt J盲rmark Foundation
The Bernt J盲rmark Foundation for Scientific Research was established in 1995 in memory of Bernt J盲rmark, who received his doctorate in control engineering in Link枚ping in 1976. The foundation supports research in optimisation, differential dynamic programming, game theory, flight mechanics and applied mathematics.
In the 2026 call, six researchers at Link枚ping University were awarded scholarships: Hamideh Pourrasoul Ouzi, Abbas Pasdar, Vahid Bagherian, Seyyed Reza Jafari, Lisa Maria Menacher and Luca Claude Gino Lebon.
