The Division of Economics at Link枚ping University is accepting applications for two research fellowships in economics and two in economic history. The fellowships will give four early-career researchers the opportunity to spend three years conducting research at Link枚ping University.
The Division of Economics will select and nominate candidates to the H枚gbom-Cocozza Foundation. The Foundation will then make the final decision on who will be awarded the fellowships.
The initiative aims to strengthen the research environments in economics and economic history at Link枚ping University while supporting early-career researchers with high scientific potential.
Each fellowship provides three years of full-time research and a tax-free stipend of SEK 1,965,000. The fellowships are expected to start in mid-2027, or as agreed.

Research across two fields
The two fellowships in economics are open to projects from all areas of the discipline. Research may, for example, address labour markets, education, housing, health and health care, public economics, finance, development economics, behavioural economics, environmental and resource economics, political economics, international economics and macroeconomics, as well as issues related to equality and sustainable development.
Quantitative methods, experimental approaches and research based on administrative register data or other large-scale data sources are particularly welcome. Theoretical research and projects combining different methodological approaches are also encouraged. Fellows are expected to disseminate their research and contribute to public debate and the development of evidence-based policy.
The two fellowships in economic history are open to research on how economies and the material conditions of life have developed over the long term and how economic processes have interacted with institutions, technology, politics and society.
Projects may, for example, explore economic growth and development, living standards and inequality, labour, demography, trade and globalisation, institutions and the state, technology and innovation, or entrepreneurship and business. Quantitative research using historical databases, register data or other historical sources is particularly encouraged, although qualitative and mixed-method approaches are also welcome.
For early-career researchers
Applicants for the fellowships in economics must hold a doctoral degree in economics awarded no more than five years before the application deadline.
For the economic history fellowships, applicants must hold a doctoral degree in economic history or a closely related field, such as economics, economic geography, economic demography, statistics or history. The degree must also have been awarded no more than five years before the application deadline.
The fellows are expected to conduct their research at Link枚ping University鈥檚 Campus Valla and to live and be registered as residents in the Municipality of Link枚ping during the fellowship period.听
