“It's an honour to hear. My driving force as a researcher has always been to contribute with an understanding of how society can balance prosperity, trade and distributional effects with scarce resources, climate, accidents and other negative effects of transport,” says Maria Börjesson, Adjunct Professor in economics at Linköping University.
“This kind of list serves as a recognition for us researchers of our hard work being paid off but even more significantly continues motivating us to keep doing good research and producing more high-quality publications and making a global impact,” says Yang Liu, Senior associate professor at the Division of Environmental Technology and Management, Linköping University.
The list includes the two percent most cited researchers in 22 scientific disciplines and 176 sub-fields. The basis of the list is citations up to and including 2021. 195,605 researchers are included in the career-long database and 200,409 researchers are included in the database for the last year.
The ranking is built upon standardised information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator (c-score).The data shows partly the most cited researchers in 2021, partly during the entire time period 1960-2021.
